Terms of Service
Last updated September 9, 2026. How we work, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.
These terms explain how we work, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. They apply when you use anchordigitalco.com, book a consultation, or hire us for a project. By working with us, you agree to these terms. We wrote them in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
Anchor Digital Studio LLC is a digital development and strategy studio based in Maine and New York. We build and manage digital presence for businesses and organizations: websites and web apps, brand direction, social media, systems, tools, and strategy. When we say “we,” “us,” or “Anchor,” we mean Anchor Digital Studio LLC and its leadership. When we say “you” or “client,” we mean the person or business working with us.
Our services
We provide digital development and strategy services. The exact work we do for you is defined in the proposal or agreement we put together for your project. If it's not written into that proposal, it's not part of the project — anything beyond the agreed scope is new work and is quoted separately.
Consultations and proposals
We don't post pricing publicly beyond the general plans on our Pricing page. We start with a free consultation to understand your business and what you need, then put together a proposal that lays out the scope, timeline, and cost for your specific project. Nothing is final until both sides agree to that proposal in writing.
Fees and payment
Your fees are set in your proposal or agreement. Unless we agree otherwise in writing: invoices are due within the timeframe stated on the invoice; a deposit may be required before work begins, and deposits are non-refundable once work has started; accounts that fall past due may have work paused until the balance is cleared; and you're responsible for any approved third-party costs, such as hosting, domains, plugins, or stock assets. Late or unpaid balances don't release you from what you owe.
Scope and changes
We plan each project around the scope we agreed on. If you want to add, remove, or change work after we start, tell us and we'll give you an updated estimate and timeline. We're not responsible for delays caused by scope changes or by waiting on materials or approvals from you.
Your responsibilities
For us to do good work, we need your cooperation. You agree to:
- Give us the content, access, and information we need, on time.
- Review our work and respond with approvals or feedback within a reasonable window.
- Make sure any materials you give us, such as logos, images, text, or data, are accurate and yours to use.
Delays on your end can push back timelines and may affect cost.
The client portal
If your project includes a client portal, you may use it to track progress, share materials, and communicate with our team — including an AI assistant that can answer questions about your project. It's a genuinely useful tool, not an oracle: it's instructed to say plainly when it doesn't have real data on something (timelines, pricing, scope changes) rather than guess, and to point you to Adam or Jackson directly in that case. Anything done inside the portal can be seen by Anchor Digital leadership. Treat it as a shared workspace between you and us, not a private space hidden from our team.
Timelines and delivery
We give you a target timeline in your proposal. We work hard to hit it, but timelines depend on both sides. We're not liable for delays outside our control, including delays caused by you, by third-party providers, or by events we cannot reasonably prevent.
Intellectual property
Once your project is fully paid for, you own the final deliverables we created specifically for you, such as your website content, designs, and custom assets. We keep ownership of our own tools, frameworks, code libraries, and processes, including anything we reuse across projects — you get the right to use those as part of your finished product, but you don't own them. You're responsible for making sure any material you give us doesn't infringe on someone else's rights.
Portfolio and promotion
We're proud of what we build, but the decision to show your work is yours. We will not share, publish, feature, or advertise your site, project, or business without your permission. If we want to use your work in a portfolio, case study, or promotional material, we'll ask first and wait for a clear yes.
Confidentiality
Both sides agree to keep the other's private information confidential. That includes any information you share with us as a client, any strategy, recommendations, or materials we give you, and all billing information and pricing. We do not disclose what you pay, and we do not use it as a reference point with other clients or the public. Confidential information does not include anything that's already public, already known to the other side, or shared by a third party without restriction. This obligation continues after our work together ends.
Third-party services
Our work often relies on third-party tools and platforms, such as hosting providers, domain registrars, payment processors, and software — as well as the specific services (Google, Supabase, Anthropic, Vercel) that run this site and the client portal, detailed in our Privacy Policy. We're not responsible for their performance, outages, price changes, or policies. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms.
Warranties and disclaimers
We deliver our work with care and skill. Beyond what's written into your agreement, our services and this site are provided “as is.” We do not promise specific business results, rankings, traffic, or revenue. Digital performance depends on many factors outside our control.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Anchor Digital Studio LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services or this site. Where we're found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific project at issue.
Indemnification
You agree to cover us against claims, losses, or costs that arise from your use of our services, your content, or your breach of these terms, to the extent allowed by law.
Term and termination
Either side may end a project with written notice. If you end a project, you're responsible for paying for all work completed up to that point, plus any approved costs already incurred. Deposits and completed work are non-refundable. We may pause or end work if invoices go unpaid or if these terms are broken.
Relationship of the parties
We work as an independent contractor. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and Anchor Digital Studio LLC.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our business grows or as the law changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of our site or services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
